Several Health Information Privacy Specialist positions are available in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of the Secretary, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Office of the Deputy Director Health Information Privacy (ODDHIP) in Washington, DC.  OCR provides the oversight, leadership, and coordination necessary to ensure that individuals have nondiscriminatory access to HHS services or programs and that the privacy and security of their health information is protected.  The Division of Health Information Privacy enforces the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act.  OCR is seeking experience in privacy and security compliance and enforcement as well as in the areas of policy, outreach, and health information technology systems.
